Dr. Elena Villanueva

Meet Dr. Elena Villanueva DC or as we call her – “Dr. V!"

Dr. Elena Villanueva DC, or Dr. V, is a holistic doctor who practices holistic care in Austin, Texas.  Dr. V’s passion is supporting people in their search for healthier alternatives in healing their chronic conditions and working with individuals looking to establish a healthier lifestyle. Dr. V’s specializations include: balancing female hormones, supporting auto immune disorders, type II diabetes, neuro chemical imbalances, genetic defects including MTHFR, insomnia, metabolic syndrome, and others.

Dr. V studied under leading methylation and genetic doctors including Dr. Kendal Stewart and Dr. J Dunn, whose work is based on genetic research done by Amy Yasko, PhD. She is passionate about learning and utilizing cutting edge technology for genetic analysis and epigenetics while employing functional nutrition. With genetic data, she can analyze underlying issues with her patients and precisely create personalized programs to work to heal and target the source of chronic conditions. As her personal journey led to discover mutations in both of her MTHFR genes, she’s committed to helping patients who suffer from the same effects and mutations.

It was through her own experience in suffering the many effects of not being able to methylate properly due to the MTHFR mutation, that she developed a keen passion for holistic medicine. Dr. V took interest in not only the wisdom found in ancestral, biological, and ecological science, but also in the metaphysical nature of healing the body, mind and the spirit. Through her practice, she aims to provide an environment of self-empowerment as she works to support the healing of ailments and their underlying causes. Dr. Villanueva is seasoned both scientifically and experientially in a wide variety of complementary healing approaches including holistic medicine, natural organic herbs, meditation, and more.

She obtained her doctorate of Chiropractic medicine in 2003 and founded her first practice in Lakeway that same year. Dr. V focused primarily on athletes, with an emphasis on performance enhancement and specialized rehabilitation of sport-specific injuries. Her patients have included NFL players, PGA golfers, Olympic sportsmen, and other elite athletes. She has worked with world-traveling medical teams and has treated athletes at Olympic-qualifying events and international sporting functions. In 2009, Dr. V. was honored as the Official University of Texas sports injury commentator for the UT sports radio station in Austin.

Dr. Villanueva is a native Texan and has strong enthusiasm for participating in almost anything outdoors with her best friend, husband, and partner, Greg, and their dog Riley. When she’s not working with her patients, you’ll find her mountain biking, hiking, camping, wake surfing, rappelling, skiing, hunting, paddle boarding, and possibly on horseback. In the fall and spring she loves to play tennis - where she’s constantly fine-tuning her backhand!  She loves traveling and has visited many parts of Europe, South America, and even the Galapagos Islands. William, her 25-year-old son, lives in Chicago and works as a Chemical Engineer in the petroleum industry. You may have noticed him on “Ninja Warrior” as he successfully completed the course while he was in China. If she doesn’t know you already, she can’t wait to meet you and start your journey of healing.

Meet Stacey Loop

Institute of Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, E-RYT 500 hours; C-IAYT

Stacey Loop is a certified yoga therapist and holistic health coach specializing in adapting therapeutic breath, movement, and meditation to an individual’s condition. She is passionate about education and is a lifelong student of the mind/body connection and the potential for optimal wellness.

When it comes to Holistic Health Coaching, Stacey works with clients to assist them in making gradual yet, significant lifestyle changes. These strategies support and influence one’s overall health, balance, passion, and drive.

Her approach involves “bio individualized” adaptations in the areas of diet,  physical activity, spirituality, relationships, and more.  It takes courage and strength to change and break free from habits and constraints, which can prevent one from reaching total health and potential. She understands each individual has the power to promote self-healing when unconscious patterns are examined and one is given the tools, encouragement, and guidance to thrive and feel whole again.

After years of working in public schools as a Special Education Teacher, her personal journey of holistic healing began when her son was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder. Intrigued by the ancient teachings of yoga and holistic health, she embarked upon an in-depth journey to acquire certifications as a yoga therapist and health coach.

In nearly 15 years, Stacey has taught over 2,500 classes in teacher training, special education topics, therapeutic privates, mentoring, and public classes. This past February, she co-presented at the U.T. Social Worker’s Conference.  Stacey has co-written curriculum for Yoga Yoga’s 95-hour Children’s Teacher Training and leads teachers in this certification program as well as training in other programs involving therapeutic aspects of yoga, including meditation.

Stacey finds deep satisfaction in being of service to others.  Outside of work, she spends time daily in her own yoga and meditation practice.  One of her favorite past times is cultivating stillness by connecting to nature, especially by the ocean’s rhythmic waves.   Dancing creates true joy and she dances weekly with her father in Parkinson’s Dance classes.  Stacey looks forward to meeting you and assisting you along your journey.
